A vast spiral wraps around the elliptic concert hall, the heart of the Cité. Christian de Portzamparc drew inspiration from the myth of Denys the Tyrant to create this space topped by a glass roof, a true invitation for discovery. A foyer for the concert hall that hosts temporary exhibitions, this conch serves as an avenue to connect the offices of the Ensemble Intercontemporain (in residence at the Cité de la musique), the music and dance information centre, and the rooms for students of the Conservatoire de Paris.
