A great exhibition on Serge Gainsbourg, famous French artist, composer and singer-songwriter who died in 1991 and yet is still an influence for artists around the world today.

We Want Miles!

October, 16th 2009 to January, 17th 2010
Organised with the support of Miles Davis Properties, this exhibition follows Miles Davis’ musical and personal journey, from his hometown, East St-Louis, to his retrospective concert at La Villette in Paris, just a few weeks before he passed away.

Chopin, the composer’s workshop

March, 9th to June, 6th 2010
Organized in collaboration with the French National Library, this exhibition offers a journey to the heart of “Chopin’s workshop”. Manuscripts, paintings, drawings and musical instruments help the visitor discover the world of this exceptional artist.

Music and Ideology in Soviet Russia

October 2010 to January 2011
The exhibition Music and Ideology in Soviet Russia 1917-1953 analyses the evolution and the mechanisms of art manipulation while interrogating the independence of artistic creation towards political power. Lenin, Stalin, Shostakovich and Prokofiev are the main examples of this time.
