The guided tours of the Museum are journeys through the history of musical instruments and musical genres. The encounter with a musician highlights every visit, giving people a unique chance to listen and talk about music from around the world.
All lecturers are musicians, historians, musicologists or ethno-musicologists.

A journey through the history of music to discover the beauties of our collections: a Stradivarius violin, the Érard piano played by Franz Liszt, Django Reinhardt’s guitar, and an extremely rare Thai piphat mon orchestra.

A journey through the rich collection of instruments from major world cultures: the Arab world, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Americas, etc.
The birth of opera
From Monteverdi to Mozart, a visit to explore the opera as a musical genre and the evolution of opera houses.
Guided tours are proposed for every temporary exhibition at the Musée de la musique.
One of the main purposes of the Musée de la musique is to give young visitors access to an exceptional musical heritage and make them feel the pleasure of listening and playing music. A collection of 600 musical instruments can be handled during the workshops.
General Visits for children
A guided tour through the permanent collections or the temporary exhibition with a lecturer. Musical extracts and an encounter with a musician highlight the visit.
