The Media Library will be closed on 25th december and 1st january and will close on at 5pm 24th and 31th december.
The media library, a spacious and warm place with modern facilities, is designed for professional musicians, amateur musicians, music-lovers, or anyone who is simply interested in music.
It was opened in 2005 through special funding granted by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, with the support of Hewlett Packard.

At the heart of the media library, this service offers personalized help to obtain information on specialized teaching, artistic training programs, the music professions, the labour, economic and legal environment in France and Europe, scholarships, residencies, grants for original works, etc.
Key questions on studies, guidance and becoming a professional are covered in some 60 on-line sheets and in the guides published by the Cité de la Musique.

A key component of the Musée de la Musique, the museum’s documentation service is mainly intended to collect and organize information on the museum's collections and on the other musical instrument collections worldwide. It compiles files on all the museum's exhibits as well as files on the leading instrument-makers, including the prices of the main public sales.
