Whether you come alone or with your family, with a school class or friends, the Music Museum invites you to visit its exceptional collections: independently with the help of free audio-guides, in French or English, or as a participant in a guided visit.
Every day, musicians come to play among the collections and speak about their instruments to the public. Special events such as concert-promenades or the “storytelling and music” weekend are organized in the Museum
When the reorganization works have been completed in March 2009, the Museum will have a more dynamic presentation, with a new audio itinerary enhanced by the many recordings made with the Museum’s instruments and the screening of 40 short documentary films produced by the Camera Lucida company, placing the works in a wider cultural context.
A special audio itinerary for young visitors promises an entertaining way to visit the Museum. Available in French and English, the audio itinerary has been sponsored by the EHA Foundation, and produced in partnership with France Musique.
To prepare for or complement your visit, Museum guides for adults or families propose different itineraries through the collections. Other publications such as the more specialized Cahiers du Musée, or the “Stories of the Museum” collection for children explore the instruments of the collection from different angles. A collection of compact discs recorded with the museum’s instruments is also available.
