Since opening in 1995, the Cité de la musique has recorded a major part of its concerts. This is also true for the Salle Pleyel, managed by a subsidiary of the Cité de la musique since its reopening in 2006.
The repertory is vast: baroque, classical, contemporary, jazz, world music, concerts recorded using instruments from the Music Museum.
Since 2008, the Cité de la musique and the Salle Pleyel also broadcast live concerts via the Internet. The concerts are then available in full free of charge for two months on our sites. After this period, they can be consulted at the Media Library.
Of the 1,200 recorded concerts, 900 audio and 150 video recordings are currently available in their integral form at the Media Library, and as excerpts on the Internet. This musical heritage is continually increasing with the addition of 200 new references each year.
